"The Doctors" Discuss Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy: Your Non-Invasive Treatment for Back Pain

“The Doctors" is one of the most popular television shows these days. Recently, The Doctors featured a riveting segment about back pains and the non-invasive procedures that can relieve them. Back pain is very common and greatly effects the way we go about our daily life.
There are different causes of back pain. For younger adults, a herniated disc is a common source of pain and for older people the condition may be a facet joint osteoarthritis. Whatever the cause is or the condition that is causing the pain, most people avoid invasive surgical procedures unless advised by the doctor. It’s a good thing that there are non-invasive procedures that help relieve back pain. Two of these procedures, cold laser therapy and non-surgical spinal decompression therapy, were demonstrated in “The Doctors.”

Cold laser therapy is very popular because it is non-invasive and has virtually no side effects. It is one of the latest technologies available and can address a number of different conditions. Another non-invasive procedure shown in one of the episodes in “The Doctor” is the non-surgical spinal decompression therapy. This is a gentle and non-invasive treatment that utilizes a decompression table.

For those who suffer back pain, non-invasive procedures like cold laser therapy and non-surgical spinal decompression therapy may be the better choices. There are Newport Beach chiropractors who offer these alternative treatments to back pain. As illustrated in “The Doctors,” these therapies are painless and effective. For more information about non-invasive treatment for back pain, please contact us.

Dr. Oz Demonstrates How Chiropractic Can Be an Alternative Remedy for Pain

If you don’t believe in taking pain killers, an alternative way of warding away those debilitating aches and pains has just been illustrated by one of the most trusted names in health - Dr. Oz.

In his show, Dr. Oz illustrated how misalignment of the spine results to pain. He said that like 80% of the population, most of us suffer back problems. Most of us also turn to painkillers to ease our discomfort. According to Dr. Oz, medication only serves to mask the pain but does not treat the underlying cause of pain. If the source of your back pain is a misaligned spine, postural alignment may be the necessary to solve your back pains.

According to the article, How to Align Your Spine, postural alignment can be attained in different ways. It can be through yoga, massage therapy, or chiropractic. It was chiropractic that Dr. Oz demonstrated in his show. He illustrated an exercise meant to help in re-aligning the spine and the person who did the exercise said she immediately felt better.

From that segment in “The Dr. Oz Show,” those who are quite in the dark about chiropractic and its benefits are informed how an alternative remedy to back problems can be very beneficial. With no less than Dr. Oz explaining about chiropractic, this drug-free remedy to back problems can be more appreciated.

There are also other forms of postural alignment as mentioned above. It is best to try them with the help of a skilled professional. The Gateway Rehab and Wellness Center offers chiropractic services in Orange County. If you have not tried an alternative to painkillers in solving your back problems, it’s time to try it now. How Chiropractic Therapy Helps Dr. Phil - "Help the body to release its own innate power to heal itself."

Doctors are the ones who take care of patients, but who takes care of them? In one recent episode of the Dr. Phil Show, Dr. Phil shared that it’s one of the questions people ask him all the time.

Dr. Phil is famous for his success in helping people live better lives and those he helps have usually hit rock-bottom. You can imagine the energy it requires for him to do all that he does. It must surely have a physical effect on him, but Dr. Phil said that he has been going to his chiropractor regularly for many years.

Dr. Phil introduces Dr. Patrick DeFazio, who he sees now for chiropractic  care.

Dr. DeFazio says, “From a chiropractic perspective, we look at the body as a whole, and we work to allow the body to restore itself to normal function. So, what we do is help the body to release its own innate power to heal itself.”

The chiropractic doctors in that particular show said that they see the people as “well” rather than sick and they work on patients to restore them to that state of wellness. They also believe that the body has a natural ability to heal.

Chiropractic care is based on holism, which means that health is affected by everything in a person’s environment. That makes sense and can be illustrated by how people get headaches after a bad day at work. For those who don’t believe in always depending on pain relievers, chiropractic therapy may be the answer in combating myriad pains and fatigue. The Gateway Rehab and Wellness Center offers chiropractic services in Mission Viejo for those would like to choose an alternative to drugs and pain relievers.

This is the place for those who want to enhance their quality of life and for those who want to prevent the risk illness rather than to treat it. From its massages to Pilates, chiropractic to acupuncture, you have a great number of services to choose from that will help you achieve a more enhanced lifestyle.

This particular episode of the Dr. Phil Show is helpful in shedding light to the benefits of chiropractic medicine and the importance of a holistic approach to good health. If it helps the man who helps people, it must be effective. For more details about our chiropractic services and practices, contact us.

Is Cold Laser Therapy for You?

Orange County Cold Laser therapy is making waves in the chiropractic scene in recent years because of its immense advantages, as compared to the risks.  If you were advised by a medical professional like a Newport Beach chiropractor, to consider Cold Laser for your treatment, you should know whether the positives effects will outweighs the risks--no matter how small.

PROS

Cold Laser therapy accurately targets the tissues of your body that needs relief.  The treatment involves using low-temperature laser which gives heat to stimulate healing but not to the point of pain.   It is non-surgical, therefore patients who have undergone the treatment do not need to have a prolonged recovery period.  Neither do they need any medications.  Studies so far have shown that there is no serious side effects to properly-applied cold laser therapy.

CONS

Of course, there are two sides to a coin.  Cold laser therapy will take several treatments, from 8 to 30 sessions.  You also have to check with your medical insurance if they will cover this treatment because Medicare and Medicaid do not.  The treatment should not be given to pregnant women.  Nor should the laser be used directly on the eyes, thyroid, cancerous-looking lesions or carcinoma.

Knowing what treatment is right for you is of primary importance to us.  Contact us for a consultation and we can help you decide.

Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor Offers Service That Could End Pain Permantly

Do you suffer from chronic pain?   Here are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved permanently with the help of a Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor and the use of Active Release Techniques (ART®):
  • headaches
  • back pain
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • shin splints
  • shoulder pain
  • sciatica
  • knee problems
  • tennis elbow
These conditions can all be alleviated if not eliminated by a Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor. They are often caused by the overuse of muscles resulting in restricted motion, reduced circulation, and altered nerve function which leads to the formation of scar tissue in the muscle. As the scar tissue builds up, it inhibits the muscles to contract normally and the muscles begin to lose their ability to function properly.

Ideally, one would visit a Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor before scar tissue build up occurs, but it may not be to late to prevent permanent damage. The build up could lead to the recruitment of other surrounding muscles to work harder as the body compensates. Without treatment from a Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor, over time the body will no longer be able to compensate any more and pain will result.

One of the ways your  Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor can treat these problems is with an Active Release Techniques®.  ART® is a patented, soft tissue movement system that a Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor uses to treat problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.  Active Release Techniques® works to break up the scar tissue in the muscle restoring normal function to the soft tissue. This system, along with regular adjustments by a  Newport Beach, CA Chiropractor  is one of the most effective ways to treat the cause of the injury, and consequently prevent future injuries from occurring.

Call 949-650-1228 today or click here to book an appointment in Newport Beach, CA. Chiropractor services can end or ease your pain using new technology and time tested methods of healing-  you owe yourself a chance at a pain-free life.

The Westcliff Medical Center can be utilized by current patients of the Gateway Rehab & Wellness Center as well as those who've yet to visit either office.

Look Leaner for Summer With Just a Few Newport Beach Pilates Workouts

According to Howard Sichel, a chiropractor and president and co-owner of Power Pilates in New York City, Pilates does more than just tone and firm your core. By initiating all movements from your center, you'll improve your posture and look leaner in just a few workouts, he says.

Newport Beach Pilates is a full-body system of specific exercises that focus on the core postural muscles (abdomen and back) and help keep the body balance.  Newport Beach Pilates, a form of exercise that branched off of yoga in the early 1900's,  builds strength in your core and can help you to look great for summer!

Because of the positive effect Newport Beach Pilates can have on your spinal column, many chiropractors have begun offering classes out of their offices.  Since Newport Beach Pilates does not require heavy equipment, this trend has been catching on like wildfire!   All you need is a bottle of water, some comfy clothing, a simple yoga mat, and of course your Newport Beach Pilates class!

We all know how important it is to look our best on the beach, so book your Newport Beach Pilates class now and start stretching your way to a sexy, strong stomach and core!

Advances in Communication Help Orange County Chiropractor to Improve Patients' Wellness

Before the development of written language, mail, books, and the internet, solutions to health issues were communicated verbally (if at all) from one person to another, and often times the information was faulty, lost, misinterpreted, or forgotten.

The message that “manual manipulation of the human spine and joints can relieve ailments in other areas of the body” has been kept alive for nearly 5,000 years, according to historians. The basic foundation of chiropractic therapy has been preserved, passed-on, practiced, and perfected over all of those years.  That speaks volumes to the value and effectiveness of an Orange County chiropractor today.

Messages that detail the results of studies, trials, or findings- or research, basically let other people know what was a success and what didn’t work

Humans are always developing innovative ways of delivering research, or any information for that matter. The faster and further a message can travel, the less time its recipient has to spend figuring out answers to problems that have already been solved somewhere else in the world.

Not only does proper research save others time, but being able to predict the outcome of our potential actions has saved lives.

The time that health care professionals like your local Orange County chiropractor or physical therapist- is usually spent researching wellness options for a patient, or even developing a new treatment.

Which is why it is crucial that all health care professionals like local Orange County chiropractors further their education by communicating with their peers.

Helping people - individuals and the species as a whole- progress and stay healthy…is the reason this Orange County Chiropractor loves his career.

Our Orange County Chiropractor's Office is centrally located at 24002 Via Fabricante Suite 501 Mission Viejo, CA 92691 Mission Viejo. Feel free to visit our website for more inormation on the services and treatments we offer, or call us at (949) 454-8811.
